A more efficient service offering for Flamingo Spa
Our collaboration with Flamingo Spa has involved designing, implementing, and optimizing digital business solutions. The main objectives included restructuring and simplifying the services, as well as increasing traffic and bookings. The result is a user-friendly, intuitive website, and agile tools for administrators to manage content.
Clunky and fragmented online service as a challenge
Flamingo Spa’s online service was overly restrictive for modern marketing, communication, and e-commerce. The website ecosystem was spread across multiple platforms and lacked cohesion with Flamingo Spa’s overall customer experience. For example, the online store, treatment bookings, group fitness classes, and hotel reservations were all fragmented across different platforms. Updating the sites was difficult, and in some cases, impossible. The website couldn’t sell tickets for the spa or water park, let alone optimize the purchasing process with active campaigns. Additionally, the data collected from users could not be effectively leveraged to enhance sales.
The solution: an efficient and profitable online store
The various websites and the online store were unified into a solution focused on ticket sales and treatment bookings. This solution provides Flamingo Spa with agile tools for marketing, allowing them to edit all content themselves. Campaigns, new pages, and the optimization of existing pages can now be easily managed through a single admin tool.
The site was built on WordPress, with the online store powered by WooCommerce. Our Everblox tool gives the administrators of Flamingospa.fi the freedom to develop the site extensively, saving both time and costs. The entire system is now cohesive, with all parts seamlessly interconnected. The new system has directly improved the quality and speed of customer service.
The e-commerce overhaul also included a reorganization of Flamingo Spa’s product types. We designed the site’s information architecture from scratch, with a user-centric approach. The design process was carried out in close collaboration with Flamingo Spa’s team, who know their customer base best. Since the experiences at the water park and spa differ, we visually distinguished them from each other online as well.
Project process
Service design and concept
We wanted to understand the needs of Flamingo Spa’s users, the company’s own objectives, and develop the website based on these insights.
Design
Our goal was to create an easy-to-use and stylish final product, with the most attractive and seamless purchasing process possible.
Technical implementation
The website was built using WordPress, the world’s most popular content management system.
Significant results with advertising and analytics
Flamingo Spa’s previous website lacked systematic tracking of defined metrics. Advertising was scattershot, and Flamingo Spa’s team had no way to analyze which channels and ad formats were delivering the highest return. We began measuring the most popular product pages, customer journeys, shopping carts, and completed purchases. We identified the most profitable channels and analyzed their conversion rates and return on ad spend.
Once the effective channels and target audiences for advertising were identified, Flamingo Spa was able to allocate its budget more strategically toward the right actions. A well-targeted advertising budget has resulted in significantly better outcomes with the same amount of spend.
