Hotel Mestari
Primehotels is a private Finnish company that owns, builds, and operates premium hotels in various locations across Finland. It is a chain of hotels where each property is an independent, unique, and high-quality entity, both in terms of its facilities and services. The hotels are united by a genuine passion for hospitality. Primehotels is making significant investments in growth, with a strategy that includes several exciting new hotel projects in the coming years.
Recently, Primehotels opened a brand-new Hotel Mestari, and we were tasked with building the website for this new property.
User-friendliness and a strong brand image as guidelines
The comprehensive website overhaul began with Hotel Mestari, a brand-new hotel that didn’t yet have an online presence. As we kicked off the project, we asked ourselves how we could create the best hotel website in Finland. Primehotels’ team wanted Hotel Mestari to have its own distinct booking system, one that would set it apart from the other properties in the hotel chain. They also envisioned a visual design that would clearly differentiate Hotel Mestari from the rest.
At the outset, our primary focus was to lay a solid foundation by creating a technically modern and sustainable service. The website also had to be easy to manage from an administrative standpoint, allowing content creators to independently manage the hotel’s website moving forward.
The website serves as Hotel Mestari’s primary sales channel, so our goal was to ensure that customers would actively visit the site, with a user experience superior to that of other booking platforms. This mission guided the design and implementation of the site and will continue to serve as the cornerstone for Hotel Mestari’s content creation and marketing efforts.
We wanted to create a modern user experience, ensure smooth customer interactions, and build a strong brand image. At the heart of this was making the booking process seamless, with a clear focus on driving sales and increasing reservations.
Creative design
Our process began with conceptualizing the entire online service experience and designing the layouts for Hotel Mestari’s new website. Since the hotel desired something unique, we crafted a visually striking and distinctive homepage. On the homepage, users can interact with a 2D image of the hotel, which was rendered by the creative agency Veli Studio.
The website serves as the customer’s first touchpoint with the hotel experience, and with the redesign, the goal was to strongly convey Hotel Mestari’s premium brand image online. The new website’s visual design was intentionally aligned with Primehotels’ brand identity and aimed to reflect the hotel’s unique concept.
Versatile tools for content creation
Website redesigns always have a significant impact on ongoing marketing efforts. To streamline marketing activities, the new website was designed to be dynamic, providing an efficient way to showcase up-to-date content.
We built a range of versatile tools for Primehotels to create and edit content, as well as custom content types for campaigns and special offers. These tools make it easy to highlight specific content throughout the site. With the launch of new websites, content creators can now manage their hotel’s online presence effortlessly from a single interface, ensuring that each hotel’s unique brand identity is maintained.
Technical implementation
The website for Hotel Mestari was built on the WordPress content management system, utilizing modular content elements. Key features of the site include an “News” section, a “Special Offers and Campaigns” section, and a custom booking tool integrated with external APIs.
The site includes three integrations: the TravelClick booking engine, the Nets payment gateway, and the Opera integration that provides clients with discount codes.
The upcoming websites will be built into the same multisite network, which means that going forward, all of Primehotels’ websites can be managed from a single platform. This multisite approach will significantly streamline the user experience across sites and improve the efficiency of ongoing development and updates.
As the final result of this redesign, we delivered an unified platform featuring an updated booking flow and excellent usability across modern devices. Post-redesign, Primehotels is now fully equipped with the right tools for effective marketing and campaign creation. The new, clear, shared site structure allows each hotel to maintain its unique brand identity, which can be easily adapted as needed.
Next steps
The website’s redesign will continue with a focus on organic search engine visibility and integrating analytics. With proper measurement, we will be able to track bookings, as well as the performance of content pages and campaigns on the site.
